Ingredients

Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoonsCrushed garlic - 2 clovesBread crumbs - 1/2 cupSeafood seasoning - 1/2 teaspoonUncooked prawns (Peeled and deveined ) - a poundSeafood cocktail sauce

Directions for making these delicious appetizers

Combine olive oil and crushed garlic cloves in small bowl and make it stay for half an hour.Combine the bread crumbs with seafood seasoning and mix well.Dip the prawns, one at a time in the olive oil-garlic mix, and bread them in the bread crumbs.Now thread the prawns onto metal skewers. Ingredients

cherry tomatoes - 6 or 7baguette French bread or similar fancy bread- 1olive oil - 1/4 cupgarlic - 2 cloves mincedvinegar - 1 teaspoonbasil leaves, chopped - 6 - 8salt, to tastecrushed black pepper, to taste

Directions for making these delicious appetizers

Blanch the cherry tomatoes in hot water, remove the skin and seeds and chop.Mix the chopped tomatoes with garlic, chopped basil leaves, olive oil and vinegar in a bowl. Add pepper powder and salt to taste.Slice the baguette bread into half-inch thick slices. Brush them with the olive oil and rub with minced garlic cloves and bake them at 250 degree Celsius, till they turn golden brown in color.Take them away from oven and serve with the tomato- basil mixture on top. Do this just before serving the Bruschetta; and then serve immediately. These delicious appetizers can be eaten without any dip sauce.

Fried Onion Rings

Ingredients

Large onions - peeled, and sliced into 1/2-inch thick rings - 2Buttermilk - 2 cupsSalt, to tasteBlack pepper powder, to tasteFlour - 1 1/4 cupsCorn flour - ¾ cupOil - 3 cups for frying

Directions for making these delicious appetizers

Combine the buttermilk with salt and pepper. Dip the onion rings in this mixture and keep for half an hour.Combine the all-purpose flour and corn flour with salt and pepper. Keep aside.Pick the onion rings from the buttermilk marinade, coat in the flour - corn flour mixture and fry in hot oil. Let's begin with All Natural Tahini Chocolate Shake. This appetizer is rich in protein and energy though without any added sugar.

You will need frozen banana; 2 tbsp (30 mL) good quality tahini; 3/4 cup (175 mL) water; 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla; and 1 tbsp (15 mL) cocoa powder. Now place all these ingredients in blender, blend well, and serve immediately.

Next, let's learn how to make Apple and Swiss Pizza.

You will need: 3 tbsp (45 mL) pizza sauce; 5 tbsp (75 mL) apple sauce; Salt and freshly ground pepper; 1-16" pizza crust (40 cm), pre-baked; 1 small red onion, minced; 1/2 lb (225 g) Canadian Swiss cheese, grated; 2 tbsp (30 mL) fresh chopped parsley; 2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil; 2 tsp (10 mL) cider vinegar; 1 apple, diced; and 2 cups (500 mL) baby spinach cut into strips. First combine pizza sauce with apple sauce and season them. Next, spread out the pizza crust and use the minced onion for garnishing. Mix parsley with cheese and sprinkle the mix over pizza. Bake the pizza on the middle oven rack for about 5-7 minutes until the cheese turns golden. You may serve immediately or let it cool for a while before serving. Cutting into bite-sized pieces is a good idea. You add color and flavor to this appetizer by the following step. Mix olive oil and vinegar. Add apples and spinach, season them and toss well. Spread this yummy paste atop chilled pizza pieces or as a side dish for dipping.

The last of our fashionable appetizer recipes today is Baked Egg Rolls.

You will need 1 lb (454 g) lean ground pork; 3 green onions, minced; 2 minced cloves of garlic; 1 carrot, grated; 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped water chestnuts; 2 tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce; 1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch; 1 tsp (5 mL) sesame oil; 1/2 tsp (2 mL) pepper; 12 large (5 1/2 inch/13 cm) egg roll wrappers; and 1 tsp (5 mL) vegetable oil. In non-sticky cookware, cook pork over medium heat until no longer pink for about 5 minutes. Now drain off the fat. Add onions, garlic, carrot and water chestnuts. Cook further over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Take a small bowl and whisk together soy sauce, cornstarch, 1 tbsp water, sesame oil, and pepper. Pour the mix into a pan and toss well. Let the mix cool down a bit. Now you need to prepare the rolls. Make 1 roll at a time. Place wrapper, brush it with water, and put the pork-mixture leaving about ½ inch (1 cm) border on all sides. Roll the wrapper and pinch ends to seal. Brush the wrap with oil and bake in oven at a temperature of 375? F (190? C) for 20 minutes until the roll turns golden and crisp. To add extra zing to your rolls, serve them with plum sauce and salad.

Baby Arugula

Crumbled Gorgonzola -4 spoons

Glazed pecans - 4 spoons

Preparation: Whisk together olive oil, the 2 spoons of reserved juice and vinegar dressing in a large bowl. Add pepper and salt to taste. Then, add the arugula and toss it well. Among the 4 chilled salad plates, divide the arugula in portions. On top of each of them, place the pear slices, pecans and Gorgonzola. Serve the dish immediately.

Bread salad

Ingredients required are:

From 8 by 4 inch sourdough - 3 round slices of 1 inch thickness

Olive oil - 4 spoons

Freshly ground pepper and salt to taste

Grape tomatoes - ½ c, halved

Diced red bell pepper - 3 spoons

Peeled and diced English cucumber, seeds removed - ½ c

Minced garlic - 1 spoon

Capers - 1 spoon

Freshly chopped parsley leaves- 2 tsp

Basil leaves, freshly julienned - 3 spoons

Balsamic vinegar -1 ½ spoons

Red wine vinegar - 1 ½ spoons

Crumbled goat cheese - ¼ c

Pitted and flesh diced avocado - 1, cut in half

Preparation: Preheat the grill. With 3 spoons of oil, sprinkle both sides of the bread. Season it with pepper and salt. Grill the bread on both the sides for about 5 minutes nicely, until it becomes somewhat crispy or nicely marked. Remove it from the grill and keep it aside for cooling. Toss together peppers, tomatoes, garlic, cucumber, parsley, capers and basil in a large bowl. Sprinkle the vinegar and the balance 1 spoon of oil. Season this with pepper and salt. Toss it again. Refrigerate it for 20 minutes. When you are ready to serve, slice the bread into 1 inch cubes and top the vegetables up with it. Gently place the goat cheese and avocado on top of it. This is one of the easy appetizers that can certainly fetch you compliments from the guests.
